  • The Take 5 Accreditation is based on the Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing with three levels of accreditation available.
  • In 2024, 13 workplaces in the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust area were supported to achieve the accreditation.
  • The Take 5 Accreditation was delivered as part of a partnership between Business in the Community and Belfast Health & Social Care Trust.

Choice Housing has achieved a Level 3 in a recent audit of its workplace health and wellbeing activities called the Take 5 Accreditation. Level 3 is the highest accreditation that an organisation can achieve.

Choice was one of 13 companies recognised at a special event held on 21 January at Belfast City Hall.

Shane Quinnell, Wellbeing Programme Manager at Business in the Community commented: “By completing the Take 5 Accreditation, these organisations are publicly demonstrating their commitment to the wellbeing of their employees in a responsible and transparent manner. The process and results allow organisations to examine and reflect on their wellbeing performance, benchmark themselves against others and drive improvements for the benefit of their people and to strengthen their business.

Clare Flynn, Advanced Health Improvement Practitioner at Belfast Health & Social Care Trust added: “The Take 5 Accreditation supports workplaces to strategically implement five steps to wellbeing in their health and wellbeing strategy for their employees. It is really encouraging to see so many organisations being recognised for their commitment to employee health and wellbeing.”

Clare Higgs, Health and Wellbeing Champion and Scheme Coordinator at Choice Housing said, “We’re delighted to have been awarded a Level 3 in the Take 5 Accreditation. As part of the Take 5 Accreditation, Choice Housing’s Health and Wellbeing Champions were provided with tools and guidance to assess Choice’s current wellbeing activities.  We evaluated how well Choice supports staff and what could be improved. From there, Take 5 guided us through creating a bespoke wellbeing action plan to inspire and support our colleagues and enhance their wellbeing.”

Julie Fleming, HR Manager, “Clare Higgs, led and championed Choice involvement in the Take 5 Accreditation and I would like to thank her for all her hard work. We are delighted to be awarded the highest level and look forward to continuing to support the Health and Wellbeing of all staff.”
