Switching Providers

Choice would encourage all of our tenants to consider switching energy providers where they are able to do so, or to engage with their existing suppliers to ensure they are getting the best deal.

Energy efficiency at home

With energy prices rising a number of times in recent months, we should be more conscious about our use of appliances, both at home and in the work-place. Not only are poor energy-rated appliances more harmful to the environment, they are also more expensive to operate.

Our energy saving tips!

Choice Housing have targets in place to reduce our landlord and communal energy consumption, which involves continually investing in our housing stock and examining further measures such as reducing heating settings where possible at communal schemes in Spring each year. This has become even more important for Choice and our tenants in recent months with the cost of heating and electricity getting more and more expensive.

Heating your home

At this time of the year we know how important it is to have warm homes to live in. Choice invest millions each year in improving our existing homes to include fabric first measures such as insulation upgrades and new windows and doors. We also invest in new more efficient heating systems, including moving from oil to natural gas boilers where possible, and installing new heating controls. In 2020/21 we installed around 240 new efficient boilers, with an investment expected to be around £800,000 on boilers and heating controls, including improvements to our communal heating schemes.
