Choice has extended the consultation period for feedback on its revised Equality Scheme and Disability Action Plan and welcomes your comments and suggestions for possible areas for improvement on these important documents
Equality Scheme
Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (the Act) requires public authorities, in carrying out their functions, to have due regard to the need to promote equality of opportunity and regard to the desirability of promoting good relations across a range of categories outlined in the Act.
This Draft Equality Scheme sets out how Choice proposes to fulfil the Section 75 statutory duties.
Disability Action Plan
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 requires public authorities, when carrying out their functions, to promote positive attitudes towards disabled people and encourage participation by disabled people in public. Our Draft Disability Action Plan shows how we propose to fulfil these duties in relation to our functions.
