This International Women’s Day we want to highlight the work we are doing to support women in the workplace as they move through the menopause.
Menopause has always been around, years ago it was known as ‘the change’, but did you know that menopausal women are now the fastest growing workforce demographic?
Within Choice, 54% of staff are women, and 29% of those are in the 45-55 age range for peri-menopause and menopause. All women experience menopause differently, some women sail through their menopause with barely a symptom, but it’s not an easy transition for all.
Our new Menopause Support Team are receiving training to support any female employee needing support in work. Along with this we have included menopause support in our Health & Wellbeing strategy and managers across Choice can also avail of training.
Victoria Love, Corporate Services manager recently attended the training for managers and had this to say-
“I found the training really useful, it gave me practical information I can apply to my team should they need support. I feel more confident that I can give informed support to any colleague experiencing difficulty in the work place as a result of menopause.”
