Minister for Communities, Deirdre Hargey visited local South Belfast housing scheme, the Brickworks to give young people a helping hand in a tree planting initiative
The new scheme has recently opened and provides much needed housing for the area. The Minister, who was meeting with Choice Housing and local residents to discuss a number of concerns in the area took some time out to give the children a helping hand.
Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey said: “I was delighted to join with some of the young people from this new Brickworks scheme on the Ormeau Road to plant trees within their housing development. It is a superb scheme and offers 42 new high quality homes for the community. My Department provided £3.41m to build these homes and I am committed to delivering more social housing for individuals and families on the housing waiting list.”
