The Croft – Early dementia care unit At the recent Building Better Healthcare (BBH) Awards, The Croft, Newtownabbey won the award for Best Dementia Care Development.
Developed by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust in partnership with Choice and the Housing Executive, and designed by TODD Architects, the residential development is situated in the Abbots Cross area of Newtownabbey. The Croft has 24 apartments, 18 single room and 6 double rooms each with their own front door but with another door leading into a main communal/reception area.Each apartment provides tenants with a home where they are supported in living as independent a life as possible, with a tailored care and support plan in place to meet their needs.
Building Better Healthcare’s annual awards event celebrates the innovation, architecture, people, products and services that are helping to transform patient care. The Awards lunch took place on 30th October 2019 at The Brewery in the City of London.
Amongst the most prestigious and respected events in the industry, the BBH Awards recognise professionals who are consistently raising the bar across the healthcare industry sector.
