Residents, staff and family joined the celebrations for the 100th birthday of Miss Annie Owens, a tenant at St Bronagh’s in Rostrevor.
Annie has been a tenant at the Choice sheltered living scheme since 2006 and has made many friends amongst fellow tenants. She is adored by her nephews and nieces, who visit regularly and admire her independence and determination which she has shown over the years.
When asked the secret of long life, Annie said:
“Hard work! As a housekeeper to many families over the years, I wasn’t scared of hard work which has kept me active and full of life!”
Michael McDonnell, Group Chief Executive of Choice visited Annie on her milestone birthday and said:
“It is a great privilege to be at St Bronagh’s today to celebrate Annie’s birthday. She is such a great character and it is clear for all to see she is one very special and well thought of lady. On behalf of everyone at Choice we wish Annie a very happy 100thbirthday”.
