Choice are pleased to be able to announce the new electricity supplier for our offices and the communal or landlord areas of some of our housing schemes.
Following a tender process Budget Energy will continue as our electricity supplier for the next 12 months. This new contract is expected to result in savings of around £102,000 when prices are compared to regulated or average market electricity prices, with savings passed to tenants at schemes where these electricity costs apply through a service charge.
Natural Gas
Choice also carry out procurement exercises in relation to our Natural Gas sites across Northern Ireland, with savings again secured as part of existing contracts. These tender exercises will take place again in 2018 and we will provide further updates on this in due course.
Heating Oil
Some Choice schemes with communal heating systems use heating oil and Choice purchase this oil through a competitive UK framework. A recent online tender exercise has resulted in this contract being awarded to the LCC Group for a two year period until September 2019. The value of this contract will vary depending on changes in the price of heating oil, although we will be monitoring average oil costs during this time.
