Northern Ireland’s largest social landlord, Choice, has been unveiled as the latest big name sponsor at one of Europe’s foremost housing events.
The sponsorship will give the housing provider an active role in proceedings at the European Network for Housing Research (ENHR) 2016 conference, which is set to welcome more than 400 international researchers to Belfast next week (28 June – 1st July).
It is the first time that the prestigious ENHR conference will be held in Northern Ireland and housing professionals and academics from across the continent will examine issues relating to Governance, Territory and Housing during active study tours in Belfast, Armagh and Derry-Londonderry.
Michael McDonnell, Chief Executive of Choice Housing, said:
“It is a great honour to welcome colleagues and influential thought leaders from across Europe. Northern Ireland has been long regarded as a pioneer of innovative housing solutions that promote exceptional outcomes for communities, enterprise and society. We have a lot of valuable experiences and lessons to share with the global community and a lot we can still learn from others who have overcome challenges that are similar to ours.”
The European Network for Housing Research (ENHR) was established in 1988 to provide an organisational platform for institutions and individuals in Europe, who are actively engaged in housing research. It now has about 1,000 individual and nearly 100 institutional members representing almost every country in Europe. Although ENHR is a European network, researchers from outside Europe are also very welcome to join.
Other sponsors of the European Network for Housing Research (ENHR) 2016 conference include Northern Ireland Housing Executive, Connswater Homes, Clanmil Housing Association, Visit Belfast, Belfast City Council and Tourism Northern Ireland.
