The Big Lunch is a programme designed to encourage stronger more sustainable communities where neighbours and local people know each other well enough to lend support and look out for each other.
Your event
The main annual Big Lunch date this year is Sunday 12 June
A free pack is available for all those interested in taking part on the day or on a date to suit locally.
This has been a difficult year for many residents groups and communities and whilst a Big Lunch is designed to be easily done on a shoe string with everyone bringing something to the table, we are running a competition to encourage even more people to give it a go.

The Eden Project is offering up to £5,000 to support around 25 communities to either put on a Big Lunch for the very first time, or to help them to do something extra special.
If you apply on this site, we could provide a grant of £200 towards the costs of hosting your Lunch. It might help towards the costs of insurance, equipment or even food. We know it will not cover ALL the costs, but hopefully its enough of an incentive to encourage people to pull together and make a start.
Note you can enter both competitions but you must be willing to participate in media and share photos from your event to inspire others.
The Big Lunch is an idea from the award winning environmental and educational charity the Eden project funded by Big Lottery.
