Aughrim Court

Aughrim Court is a sheltered living scheme which is designed specifically for older people (generally over 60 years but in some schemes applicants over 55 years can be considered). Sheltered living enables tenants to live independently and privately in their own home within a safe and supportive environment. 

In the town of Kilkeel there are quite a number of churches catering for all denominations within a 2 mile radius.  There is also a Post Office, pharmacies and restaurants, all within walking distance.  The local health centre, library and leisure centre are all within a mile of the scheme.  There is also a day centre which holds various classes on week days.  The scheme is comprised of 25 self- contained apartments with lift access to the upper floors.  This includes; 14 single bedroom apartments, 8 double bedroom apartments, 2 two bedroom apartments and 1 three bedroom house.  Each of the apartments has gas central heating, double glazed windows and a fully fitted kitchen.

Rent

The weekly charge includes rent and rates plus charges for support service and communal facilities. Charges are set at an affordable level and depending on your circumstances you may be entitled to Housing Benefit and Supporting People funding. Please contact Choice for details of current charges.
