Choice’s very own Martin Watson is a finalist in the Inspirational Colleague category of this year’s national Housing Heroes Awards.

The UK Housing Heroes Awards which are jointly organised by Inside Housing and the Chartered Institute of Housing reward the hard work of outstanding teams and individuals.

Housing is all about people from board members, to tenants to staff, and these awards celebrate and recognise the very best of the housing sector.

Martin Watson is the Building Supervisor at 126 Strand Road in Derry~Londonderry, anyone who has had the pleasure of working with Martin will already know, not only why he was nominated but why he is one of the finalists selected from housing staff across the UK for this award.

For those of you who haven’t had the good fortune to work with Martin yet, you should know that, since 2016 he has dedicated his working life to enriching the lives of others and helping them to thrive, through his role as Building Supervisor. Tackling anti-social behaviour and supporting residents in Derry~Londonderry is a challenge Martin has creatively met head on. Martin works in collaboration with a range of partners to ensure the security of all tenants under his remit. He works closely with night security staff on issues surrounding the safeguarding of tenants and security of the buildings.  Martin has always shown great determination to carry out his role and be a force for good for the people he supports.

The ceremony will take place 24th June at the Manchester Central Hotel.  This will be a fantastic opportunity for Martin and his colleagues, Heather Leslie and Joanne McGowan, to join their peers from the wider housing sector and celebrate the valuable work and positive contribution our housing heroes make.

Good Luck Martin!
