The Big Lunch was started in 2009 by the Eden Project with the aim is to get as many of the 64 million people in the UK as possible to have lunch with their neighbours in a simple act of community spirit and it has been growing each year with 7.29 million UK residents joining in last year! If you haven’t had a taste of this fun yet, give it a go this year! There is a free pack funded by Big Lottery which includes veg seeds, posters, Gruffalo stickers and lots of ideas to help bring all ages together in a most inclusive way.

The idea is that anyone can host a get together in our street of neighbourhoods and together they make one BIG Lunch and one massive outpouring of community spirit.

It’s a very simple annual day for neighbours and communities to enjoy a day of food, fun and friendship. This year’s main date will be Sunday 12th June and packs are always undated so that you can pick a date to suit locally.

The free pack is available at www.thebiglunch.com and you can connect on Facebook and twitter @thebiglunch
